James turns the big 1/2!!!!

James and Daddy practice the art
of synchronized Pillow Hugging

Yes, yes...it's true...the little baby is now a whole 1/2 year old!!!! He's come a long way from that little bundle that used to shlioop shlioop on his newborn soothie. He's a big boy now with so many new things which he's mastered like:

  • Not sleeping through the night (he's really very good at this skill and wants everyone to know that he accepts volunteer friends who may have insomnia to meet up with him and watch Sesame Street reruns - he'll provide milk and cookies if you feed him a bottle)
  • Wearing rice cereal with pears
  • Surprise Poopie Diapers riiiiight after being changed into a clean diaper
  • Num-numing on fingers (even ones that aren't his own)
  • Splashing in the tub
  • Trip=pod(ing) and learning balance to sit upright just so he can fall forward
  • Weakening the Floor Boards as he jumps through the floor (as seen in the video)

  • Grabbing anything and placing it into the mouth (watch out tail of Finnegan)
  • Yodeling in his crib at 5 a.m.
  • wait, there's more but the little guy is fussing, so I'm off to see how I can be of service...be back soon.....!!

Daddy's Boy!

A Fine, Spring Day....
Daddy and I spent some time this afternoon playing in the yard. It was a treat
because usually daddy is working but had some time to play and romp around outside!
I like my daddy.
He is fun. He also understands my need to eat my feet at this stage in my life.
I num num on my feet. Daddy helps me put my feet near my mouth much to the chagrin
of mommy and mom-mom...ya know, cuz they're ladies and ladies don't eat their feet, I guess.
Ok, bye!

Well, Hello there!

The first mini-heat wave at 90 degrees so I'm shirtless.
Yes, yes, I had to do it...I had to go shirtless in this heat....
look at how buff my baby biceps are...jealous?
ok, that was conceited of me...
but seriously, it is a hot day out and mommy let me
"air out" a little. Thanks, mom!

5.5 Months - "MIGHTY JOE YOUNG" is James

Um, this child is growing faster than I can type. He is now about 23 lbs. 29 inches and only fits into 12 month clothes. HE IS ONLY 5.5 months!!!! We purchased a big ole jar of MINERAL ICE to put on our muscles since our backs, arms and shoulders hurt lugging this little sack of potatoes around!

This month, he had a visit from his grandparents from Kansas, Ben & Leah Renfro. He had a nice time loving his grandfolks and showing them his cute ways!

Zonked out!

Grandma Leah feeds James while Mommy recovers from
CTS surgery.

The Dawn of a new Era: THE JUMPEROO aka "The Poopie Maker"

I want to play in dirt!!!! But I have to develop my back and
head muscles so I know how to sit up first.
So ....development first, dirt later

He loves to sleep in the "Stick em up!" position

Grandparent-Palooza!!!

Grandmom & Grandpa Renfro and my froggy pajamas are fun!

Tippy-toe around the Jumperoo
His daddy refers to it as "On Pointe"

4.5 months later...

Our baby boy is growing tall and broad at 4 months. He is now about 17 lbs. and 28 inches. Since he is long, many of his clothes already don't fit him for the sizes he should be wearing ahead of time.

For instance, his 6 months clothes (nada). He barely fits in 9 months. I think this is due to the fact that he is so long.

Enjoy some of the pics!

In the BEGINNING......

Time to Meet James!
Momma has her bags packed and ready to go to hospital in this pic.
This was taken about 10 a.m. on Sunday 11/22/09.
James was born at 4:16 p.m.
She is having contractions here about 6 minutes apart. Youuuch!!!
She never actually "crawled in public" before this day.
Furbrother Finnegan knows something is happening!

James's namesake, Pop-Pop Jim, can hardly contain
himself in this hospital while his youngest daughter
goes through a very quick labor.
His energy & excitement is quite obvious!

James came into the world very quickly & quietly.
He wasn't sure where he was and why.
However, we know he was hungry as he tried to communicate
using his "Mangia Mangia" hands!

6lb. 11 ounces - 20 inches
A little blob of cuteness awaits to meet his family
just in time for Thanksgiving!

"Ohm....Ohm..."
Jimmy is displaying his meditation techniques
and is trying his best to be Zen/Buddha Baby.

Time to meet mommy. Time to meet son.
Hearts aflutter
The Love Affair begins

DADDY!!!!! A proud papa feeds
his "kickin chicken" for the very 1st time!

James meets Mom-Mom
and Aunt Anna! His new "Girlfriends"

He's finally awake!!! Pop-pop, that is.
Already, they are becoming buddies!

Jimmy starts out as such a quiet little bean.
He was the only one delivered that day in the hospital but he had fellow babies to share the nursery with when he was wheeled in there to "socialize".
His favorite thing at this time is Mommy's milk and his Soothie Pacifier.

The soothie made the cutest little soft squeak as James practiced
his sucking techniques. Mom will never forget that sound. It was
the sound that symbolized her baby was finally here!
